Opportunities to get involved

If you are interested in being present for the vote on Middle Housing, the council meeting will be on Tuesday night at 6 pm!

See the information below about getting to City Hall, and see the agenda for the link to listen in or participate virtually.

I'd also encourage you to reach out to the City Council at council@bellevuewa.gov if you have any thoughts on some of the potential questions that are listed in the second half of the post here: https://newbellevue.com/?p=422  - I believe the councilmembers are working now to figure out whether they will make any motions in the meeting, since no middle housing items to be voted on are listed in the meeting materials.

If you know anyone who would like to sign the petition regarding Tuesday's decision about the expansion of co-housing in Bellevue to areas not required by the state law, and which may be over 3/4 mile from major transit, please point them to this link: https://newbellevue.com/?p=440

There is lots of general information about middle housing at the website https://newbellevue.com/, and you can click on the Middle Housing link in the upper right if you want to see an index of some of the past posts.

Attending meetings at City Hall

Bellevue City Hall is adjacent to both the Downtown Link station and the Bellevue Transit Center. If you're driving, there is an entrance to the free parking just north of the NE 4th and 110th Ave NE intersection. If that is full, there is an overflow/employee parking area off 112th (go past the first garage entrance to enter at the second level), but the exit gate is badge-only after 10:30pm, so you'll want to move your car to the garage off 110th if you're staying late (there are always breaks in the meeting if it's running long).

At the beginning of every council and commission meeting is approximately 30 minutes reserved for public comment. Each person is allowed up to three minutes to speak, but there will be a cap of three people taking a certain position if multiple people are speaking about a given topic, in order to give the other side a chance to be heard. Signups start at noon on the day of the meeting, and it's also possible to sign up in person before the meeting starts if you arrive early. The signup will ask you if you want to speak in-person or virtually, and there is also a Zoom link for the meeting on the agenda.
